Zadar, Croatia
Zadar, Croatia May, 2018 Krka National Park Loving the town of Zadar where we have landed for the night after a walk through Krka National Park. The park has a buildup of travertine (limestone deposits from the ground water) that has formed into pools and has built stunning waterfalls. An hour away is the small town of Zadar where the boardwalk has the most amazing sea symphony, pipes amplifying sounds from the sea that resemble whale song. Our new chariot. The whole run of the waterfalls.

Zagreb, Croatia
Zagreb, Croatia May, 2018 Zagreb Finishing our Croatian adventure on day 10 in the very cool city of Zagreb. This place definitely needs some more time to explore…next time. Day 10! Fantastic wine tasting and education at Vinoteka Borenstein. I definitely recommend a visit to see owners Ivan and Doris next time you’re here. My new friend…not much of a conversationalist Lotrscak tower. Noon canon goes off daily, harking back to the times when we needed to synchronize our watches and sundials.

Krka National Park, Croatia
Croatia has eight national parks but only two have mind-blowing waterfalls, and we went to both! The magic is totally natural and the nature is totally magical! Here's the first. Captivating Krka We swapped our boat and bikes for this lap of luxury! Krka National Park has a series of seven waterfalls that are constantly reshaping themselves. Simple rainwater gets an oomph from carbon dioxide from the air and decaying matter in the soil turning it into a weak acid.

Split, Croatia
Old Town Split We started and finished our bike trip in the town of Split, literally built inside Diocletian's retirement palace. He built his palace in 300AD and when things got dodgy when the Roman Empire collapsed, the locals took shelter in there and never left! Ready to board! Diocletian's palace walls that surround the old town of Split. It was quick work building this palace; only 10 years. Pretty good workmanship from something still standing 1,700 years on.
