Halifax, Nova Scotia
Lots of subterfuge was involved with our visit to Nova Scotia. Six months in the planning, we pulled off an epic surprise birthday for Adam and explored some of the beautiful rural landscapes of this gorgeous province.
We arrived in Halifax from PEI in time to meet up with Evan and JP for Adam’s birthday dinner. Unbeknownst to Adam, Robyn (from Vancouver) and Alex (from Toronto) snuck into Nova Scotia to surprise him. Casually sitting at the bar, Adam didn’t notice them until Evan commented about this couple at the bar who must be on a first date. Adam turned around and thought “funny, that guy looks just like Alex!”

Best birthday dinner ever. All he needs is family, great food is just a bonus!

Adam's next favourite thing is going on a hike so we took everyone to Cape Split.

From up high on the cliffs...

...to low down by the water.

Picnic time.

How's that for a splash of colour!

Competing for height but someone in this picture is cheating...

Ice cream for the birthday boy and did he ever go all out! Halifax is known to often find itself under a blanket of fog so the creative minds behind this embraced this claim to fame. Ice cream peeks out of a blanket of fog, in this case, cotton candy! This is one of the food establishments of Evan's company. He made some of this ice cream we are now getting to enjoy.
